Boots on the ground!

On Friday we had exchanges with the zone leaders in which I was able to spend time with Elder Guerra in his area. We had a really busy day with about 4 lessons and many people that we contacted on the street. The zone leaders have been applying "boots on the ground" which is where we park our car or BIKE a half a mile away from our lesson if time permits and walk to and from. This will help us talk to and find more people to teach. Elder Guerra is a great teacher and it was a humbling experience as I need to work on many principles to become a greater teacher. We had a fun time and some great Mexican food since it is a Spanish Ward they cover.

Christ Attributes!

On Friday when we went to the food bank to do service they put us outside on the farm and we picked unions in the mud. It was fun but super hot and sunny. My neck got burned pretty bad. We had several lessons this week and found many less actives that our on a Ward roster that have moved. District meeting this last week was great. We talked about Christ like attributes and also talked about how we need to always teach and testify of Christ. Sadly we didn't have anyone at church in either wards but hopefully that will change by next week. Our Ward mission leader has been gone and will be gone for one more week so we hardly know of anything going on in our new area Alamo Ranch. Luckily I know 6th Ward fairly well.

Tonight we have a lesson with a part member less active family the Richards. We hope that all goes well and that we can bring them back to church and baptize the rest of the family. It has been off and on rain all week and will continue to be like that all this week. My companion doesn't like working in the rain so it was hard to finally get him out of the apartment and work.

That was definitely a surprise the other night when Scott came to our apartment. It was pretty funny because me and my companion were talking about how we both love cheese cake earlier that day. My companion goes to bed at ten each night so I was just reading when the door bell range and had to wake my companion up to go out and see who it was.

Baptism of Samuel and Emanuel!

I will be staying here in 6th Ward and also be doubled into Alamo Ranch. This is now I believe the biggest bike area in the mission or at least close to it. I truly don't know how I'm going to get to most of my area but hopefully the members will be willing to give us rides. I will be receiving my 6th companion Elder Duford who I don't know anything about besides that he came out with me. I will also be staying as the district leader. My companion will be going to Parkwood my old area so that is great.

Baptism on Saturday was great. We had a good amount of members show up and participate in the baptism. I had the opportunity to baptize Samuel which was such a great experience. They were both so excited and everything thankfully went smoothly. The father who is still not a member came and enjoyed watching his son and grandchild be baptized. We are hoping that he will want to be baptized soon. We invited him to be baptized again at church and he said that he was going to have to think about it. Also Emmanuels mother came to watch them be confirmed and stayed for all three hours. She doesn't live in our area but we hope we can also start teaching her and set her with a date.

We had a great lesson on Saturday with a man named Tommy. He use to be married to a member over 20 years ago and says that he is missing something in his life and is not sure what it is. He accepted a baptismal date once he comes to know the Book of Mormon is true. We have a couple other people that we are working with and hope that they will start to progress and come to church.

We also had the chance again to do service twice at the food bank. My companion then had to get a root canal and the Mormon dentist let me watch it which was pretty interesting. This week we didn't get out proselyting to much which was to bad because my comp was either not felling sick or we had to call people to participate in the baptismal program.
